Go Colts!!

While Scott and I watched the game the girls decided they, too, would like to cheer on the Colts! So, taking turns wearing mommy and daddy's jersey's and rally shirts, we all watched the Super Bowl! Our beloved Colts lost, but it was a great game. Next year we'll be buying them their OWN jerseys.

Poor Peyton. Time to cheer on for next year!

Little Einstein's

One of Lauren and Whitney's favorite books is a seek and find "big book," that I'm asked to read at least 20 times a day. It's not reading so much as asking, "where's the kitty?" And then they'll point to the kitty (or, Keekee as they both say). It's been amazing to see them learn all the animals, shapes and colors from one beloved book.

What's behind door #1?

Now that the first floor of our house is wide open, Lauren is curious as to where mommy, daddy, or any visitors go when they disappear behind a certain door (our bathroom). I have yet to take my camera inside the bathroom, but gets a chuckle when I see little wisps of hair, fingers and giggles from under the door when she's trying to peek in. :)

Twins, Twins and more Twins!

I found out I was pregnant with twins in September of '07. My good friend and neighbors, the Pepins found out they were having twins 5 months after that. Now my good friends the Uhls are expecting twins in May! So, the three of us decided we are going to try to get together every few weeks so our brew of girls can all play together and get to know each other. Kara's daughter Sophie is 4 weeks older than Lauren and Whitney. The Pepins also have an older daughter, Marlise, who will is 4. So far we have 5 girls among our families...and with any luck, Kara will add two more this summer!

Zari and Karis' couch was a BIG hit!

Thanks Marlise, Karis and Zari for inviting us over, and Sophie for coming to play! We had the best day and can't wait for next time!

Tis the season...for the flu

About a month ago Lauren and Whitney got their H1N1 shots. 2 days later, Lauren was nailed with the flu. 103 fever, runny/stuffy nose, hacking cough--eventually--pink eye. Chiseling mucus from baby's eyes and nose is never a fun task.

Lauren was so hot and soggy, all she wanted to do was lay on the cool leather couch...

After a week went by and Wee was still feeling good, I was relieved that she, too, didn't get sick. That of course was short-lived.

Thankfully, they're on the mend now. Whitney is still a bit crabby and snotty, but they feel (and look) better. We're definitely ready for the summer sun!

Open Floor Plan

Recently, I took down the baby gates and let the girls have access to our entire first floor of the house. They LOVE this. The kitchen is the favorite room in the house, as is for most families. The exploring and running in circles has them ever-busy.

Grocery shopping in the kitchen...

Figuring out that the hallway leads to the living room, leads to the kitchen, and back around!

We lowered the highchairs for the girls...

No, we don't drink Red Bull...we just play with the cans. :)

Of course this means I no longer have a room that isn't covered in toys, food or toddler-wares, but they're very happy being able to be with us in any room. Next up, stairs and their bedroom!

Glad to be a girl

Lauren and Whitney are typical girls. They love shoes, hair bows and hats. I'm glad, as there are SO many cute girly accessories out, but I'm also worried that as young girls, they'll still be typical girls. :)

Throwing fits

Whitney has become more of a drama queen than I originally predicted. With Lauren winning the crown her entire life (que GIANT elephant tears for anything not going her way), Whitney now has assumed the role of queen when she doesn't get her way. I'm keeping these to show her when she's a mother. You know, like my mom did for me. HA!

Christmas 2009

Christmas morning was fun this year because the girls were able to run around and notice all the fun new things. They obviously still don't really understand the meaning of it all, but it's fun to see them take it all in. Merry Christmas babies!

Before the kids got up...

The girls looking at all the new stuff Santa brought them!

They didn't even fight over what color chair they wanted!

Lauren, obviously confused about her gift...

The rest of the day was filled with Guitar Hero and playing!
