Bad hair day...
Party girls!
Lunch club
When I was working, a few of us would get together the last Friday of the month for "Lunch Club." As these friends changed jobs, had kids, etc., we still maintained our club for quite a while. Alas, Maria moved to Louisville, I am staying home and it's much harder for us to get together. However, we managed to gather for one last Lunch Club opportunity last week, as Joe is moving on to obtain YET another degree. The girls were invited, as was Vincent and a few other good friends.

More signs of spring
Don't fence me in
Shayler Park - swing time!
Shayler Park
The weather was so perfect on Monday (near 76 degrees), that I thought I'd take the girls to our neighborhood park for the first time. The entire play area is full of peagravel and although the thought of dog poo and other festering bacteria entered my mind, I took a chance and sat the girls down. Whitney LOVED it! She dug and dug and ran her hands through the rocks - Lauren on the other hand, couldn't believe her eyes that Whitney could dare touch such a thing.

Spring has sprung!
Since the weather has been so great, I've taken the girls out to walk every day. We see birds, flowers, trees...and it's so amazing to watch the girls take it all in. They love our walks and I can't wait to take them out, every day!
We started off with our usual winter hats, but then we came back by the house and got our (now too small) spring hats.

A walk to remember
We tried our best to give mommy our "please, take us outside" looks...we even sat by the doors and windows, taking in the breeze and sunshine.

Finally she packed us up and took us for a stroll. The weather was so great - mommy insisted we wear our dumb hats since we have ear infections, but we didn't mind.
Stuffy head, fever so you don't rest...
The girls caught a nasty cold last week which left them very congested, runny, cracked and often bloody nosed, watery eyed and cranky. A few days later they were thrown two ear infections. It killed me to hear them cough, unable to eat or be soothed by their beloved "Nuks" because they had to breathe through their mouths. Sometimes they just wanted to be held and cuddled (which I gladly did, one at a time).
