Gifts from Great, Great Aunt Beverly

My great-aunt lives in Xenia Ohio. A short distance north, but we never seem to find the time to get together. She's always been wonderful about sending cards and letters -- the girls have been fortunate to see her a couple of times.

Aunt Beverly is cleverly artistic and creative. She paints, draws, sculpts. She always makes fun cards and wraps gifts like a professional. The girls got a package in the mail from her, and as always, the packaging was done with lots of love.

BOOKS!! Our favorite!!

Thank you so much Aunt Beverly! We can't wait to see you again!

Iron's Fruit Farm

As a group, my StrollerFit class often has fun-filled events for moms and their kids. This month, we went to Iron's Fruit Farm! We saw "funny" animals (a Llama, goose, donkey and pot-bellied pig), took a hayride, picked out our very own pumpkins and had cider and pumpkin donuts!

For some reason, she LOVED the scarecrows!

Model train show

Scott's love for trains goes back to his grandfather. He gave Scott his first train -- a "G-scale" LGB. Since then, Scott, his dad, brothers and even a coworker who Scott introduced to the hobby, have had a serious passion about trains. Specifically LGB (although they wouldn't turn away an occasional Bachmann or the like).

I'm beginning to wonder if the love of something (ie: a hobby) can be passed on through generations, hereditarily. We take the girls to random train shows around Cincinnati/Dayton and they love every minute of it.
