Our first haircut

The girls have probably needed a haircut for over a year. Lauren's hair is thin, unruly and gets ratty very easily. Whitney's grows straight down, into her eyes. But, I could never bring myself to cut those beautiful, unmanageable locks -- until a week before Christmas. Whitney gets frustrated when her hair "won't leave her alone," and Lauren's constantly looks like she's got "bed head."

Scott and I took them to Cookie Cutter's and they did WONDERFULLY! Whitney is definitely going to be the salon-going woman. She chatted up her stylist the entire time. Lauren was less chatty, but very well-behaved and brave. Of course, I kept little locks of hair that was cut off, and even managed to keep back the tears. My babies are growing up. :::sob:::

First we chose our "seats."

Then our stylists wet our hair down...

Getting it cut!

Time to dry!

And finally, the style.

Oh, so beautiful!

Clidence, Pepin and Uhl twins

Every so often my fellow twin mommy's and I try to get together. It's hard at times, since having twins makes for a busy life. Having twins and an older child makes "busy life" an understatement!!

Miss Karis, NOT so shy...

I love this photo. Soapie is one of the girls' best friends. And of course, Lauren is picking her nose. :)

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was different for us this year, in that, instead of making too much food for just a few family members (dad, step-mom, grandma and us), we dedicated our time to the church I grew up in. We helped pack up food for needy people around the community. The women of the church spend a couple days before Thanksgiving cooking turkey, noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole and a SLEW of pies and cakes -- all to be packed up and delivered by my dad and cousin (the pastor of our church) to shut in's and seniors. After the deliveries went out, we got to enjoy the company of extended family and volunteers to eat the mass quantity of leftovers. It was a humbling day and left us feeling quite good by the end of the day.

My cousin Andrea and her beautiful new baby girl, Eva. Pauline, the organ player who has been attending church there since I can remember.

The girls having fun playing with the giant grandpa puppet!

Dad's beautiful tree he decorated while we were there. It looks so pretty at night!

Gymboree Play & Music

Groupon had a $35 coupon for an unlimited month of play and art/music classes at Gymboree. I'd heard of Gymboree (the expensive clothing store for babies and toddlers) but didn't realize they had "classes" of sorts at various locations. I thought I'd check it out -- something for us to do for a month.

I had NO idea how much the girls would absolutely LOVE the art class. They paint, glue, use stickers, construction paper... they love it so much that we ended up continuing the classes after our Groupon month was over. We go every Tuesday now and the girls can't wait to go to "art class." I highly recommend!

First we play with Play-Doh, to warm up our hands and fingers...

Usually Whitney is a minimalist, just painting circles of one or two colors. Lauren uses her whole body and typically paints the entire paper (and then some)...
