Whitney's favorite thing to do (besides walk), is to lay on the floor, flat on her back and kick her feet wildly. She then rolls over, kicks her feet, flails her arms and headbangs the floor...then onto her back again for more shenanigans.
Of course, little sister has to join in the fun!
Grandpa Clidence has done it again! To match the bookcase he made for their room, the girls now have their very own, handmade toy box! It's nice and roomy, has a lid that won't slam shut and the top is for a cushion for seating. The girls love throwing things into it and pulling everything out of it. Thanks Grandpa - we love it!
On July 15th, Whitney let go of the footstool and walked across the room. I did a double-take! It was so natural for her...she did it all day, then again the next day, and has been walking ever since! I only cried twice *that* day... :)

Whenever I go home to visit, I *must* go to Hacienda Mexican Restaurant. Hacienda is a place I've gone to since grade school and is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! Mom, Sadie and Carmen came with us and we stuffed ourselves silly!

After the Lemert Reunion, we stayed at my dad's the rest of the week. The girls had SO much fun seeing new things and romping around pampaw's big back yard!
Although we didn't get in the "big" pool, the girls were still able to cool off. They LOVE the water!

My great-grandpa Lemert owned a large fruit farm where I was blessed to grow up. Some of my fondest memories are on that farm and will always hold them close. Last year my great-aunt Linda (Grandpa Lemert's granddaughter), hosted the first Lemert Family Reunion. We weren't able to go as the girls were only 2 months old, and the drive is around 5 hours. This year we were able to go and had a great time! The girls were so well-behaved (especially only having about an hour nap that day) and had fun meeting all their long-distance relatives. Lauren won a prize for being the youngest "Lemert" and we all won prizes for playing Bingo. We're in charge of next year's reunion and I'm so excited!
