Slate Run Historical Farm
A lot of people from here have been telling me about Slate Run. It's one of the larger parks in the area with a million things to do. One of those is the Historical Farm.
This farm is self-sustaining and a replica of what life was like in the 1880s. No tractors, no electricity. Just animals, gardening and farmers. It was fun touring the home, seeing the women in the garden and petting the animals. We went at the right time, as there was a small group of kids taking a tour and we got to hear all about the farm. A bonus: the baby pigs and sheep!
"Horses, donkeys, cows that moo,
Chickens, kittens, piglets too,
Fish that swim down in the pond,
Ducklings quacking all day long.
All these animals you can see
If you go to the farm with me." ~Unknown
