Train time!

Daddy has lots of trains and this weekend he set one of them up--to see how we would react and if we'd break anything. So far, we just sit in amazement as the train goes around...we'll see how we are once the whole train set is up!

A 40-year celebration

Last weekend was the mark of Bob and Sandy Clidence's 40th year of wedding bliss. We decided to surprise them with an anniversary party. Lured to The Ritz Charles with an invite to a fake party, they had no clue that over 50 friends and family members waited to surprise them. It was a great night full of laughter, dancing and socializing.

The table by the entrance had a photo book for all to sign and photos of Bob and Sandy's wedding day.

Sandy's wedding and bridesmaid dresses were also displayed...

The bridesmaid dresses have a long history - they were in FOUR weddings!

Guests as they arrive...

Bob and Sandy were so surprised! They had no idea!

The couple's "first" dance, to the song they danced to at their wedding.

Everyone tries to do "The Robot" like Kate!

Everyone had a blast dancing the night away!

Happy Anniversary Bob and Sandy. We love you so very much!

Thanksgiving, pt. 2

On Friday, the girls and I went to Sadie's for a non-traditional, Mexican Thanksgiving! Sadie made chili relleno's, tamales, hard and soft tacos, dip, salsa and fried ice cream. The girls had their first tasting of tamales and fried ice cream. The meal was delicious and the company was great. Thanks Aunt Sadie!!

Whitney was a "big" help in the kitchen.

Lauren, not so much!

The AMAZING fare.

Watching Aunt Sadie make tacos.

After dinner and before dessert...mess making!!

Thanksgiving, pt. 1

This year, the girls and I had a quiet Thanksgiving celebration with my dad, stepmom, grandma and step-grandma. The food was of traditional fare and we had no problems stuffing ourselves silly. We're thankful for good food and loving families.

5-year anniversary

Scott and I have been married now for 5 years. We've been together nearly double that, but not a day goes by when I don't feel extremely thankful and truly blessed.

Dinner antics

Last weekend the girls and I stayed at my sister-in-laws overnight, while our husbands and her eldest son went hunting. Andrew and the girls enjoyed watching Anne fix their lunch...

And later that day...

they enjoyed sharing their dinner.

I wanna hold your hand

The day before we turned the girls' carseats around, I glanced back to see what it would look like, having them face foward. Methinks they'll be OK with it either way.

The last sign of summer

I saw this lone rose outside my kitchen window the other day. It has withstood the first few cold nights--I wish it would stay all winter!

"The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size."
~Gertrude S. Wister

Carseat sillies

The new, fun thing to do whilst riding in the car, is to put our favorite babies on our heads. Mommy thinks this is so silly!!

Pretty hair-do

Lauren's hair is getting long enough to adorn with pretty bows, barrettes and ponytails. If only we could keep them in for more than 5 minutes at a time...
