3rd Annual Lemert Family Reunion

This year, I was in charge of the Lemert Family Reunion. As you recall (see last year's post), my great-grandpa Lemert owned a fruit farm that we were all very blessed to be a part of. Many of my fondest childhood memories were on that farm. I helped grate apples, make cider, ran the cash register (in the early 80s, it wasn't unheard of to pay a 7-year-old two + dollars for a bushel of apples). Anyway, my dad tended to the apple trees, mowed the orchard and was responsible for all the general upkeep of the farm. I remember it being hard work for him--lots of fun for me.

I was excited for the opportunity to bring my memories to the reunion. I created vintage-inspired invitations, a quiz with random family info, a photo collage going back 70+ years and fun trivia. I am planning the reunion again for 2011, complete with a family tree...that I really should get started on...

Everyone seemed to have a great time. I'm hoping next year will bring even more family members and a lot more wonderful memories.
